COVID-19 TESTING INFORMATION
Surfside Urgent Care offers a wide range of COVID testing options. Rapid testing available, fast turnaround on PCR Testing.
- COVID-19 PCR Testing – We offer stress free throat swabs when requested (nasal is most accurate). Our results often return same or next day when obtained Monday through Friday morning. Samples obtained Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday usually return by Monday.**
- COVID-19 Rapid Antigen testing – Rapid Antigen Tests (resulted in 15 minutes) are available though considered less accurate and generally not considered appropriate for screening after exposure or without COVID like symptoms. Be sure that COVID-19 Rapid Antigen results will be accepted if being obtained to fulfill a particular requirement. Follow-up PCR testing is often recommended with a negative rapid test when high clinical suspicion for COVID-19 infection exists.
TRAVEL PCR TESTING
We offer QUICK, ACCURATE, STRESS FREE Throat and Nasal Swabs. SAME or NEXT DAY results for COVID-19 PCR can be obtained Monday – Friday Morning. Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday tests usually return Monday afternoon.
PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO CHANGES IN MEDICAL INSURANCE CARRIER POLICIES, OBTAINING COVID-19 SAMPLES FOR ROUTINE TRAVEL IS NOT BE COVERED BY INSURANCES AND CHARGES MUST BE PAID IN CASH.
**DISCLAIMER: The COVID-19 PCR tests that we offer are processed and resulted by off-site third-party lab vendors. The turn around times listed are the expected and usual times based on the lab expectations and our experience with these labs. However, we are not ultimately in control of the results and cannot guarantee turnaround. Results are subject to the third party lab’s productivity capabilities which can vary based on their volume or unexpected delays with specimen transportation. Rarely, test results return invalid or inconclusive which requires repeat testing. While delays are rare and unexpected we want to inform you that they are regrettably possible and at times unavoidable.
Furthermore, these labs generate their own bill which is processed by the third party labs. These charges are usually covered by insurance, though in certain circumstances may ultimately result in fees payable by the patient.
